Food Stations - an exceptional touch for any event
When hosting an event, there are countless ways to add character and unique flair to the occasion. Serving as guides to execute one-of-a-kind visions for weddings, corporate retreats and private events, we work with hosts to translate distinct characteristics to each event. In addition signature cocktails and themed-menus, a new trend in event food (and a fantastic way to add your personal touch) is the introduction of special food stations.
Our favorite food stations for 2015 include:
Wyoming tacos: A cowboy state inspired station offering trout and bison asada meats with all the fixings - queso fresco, fresh lime, pico de gallo, fire-roasted tomatillo green chili salsa, guacamole, onions and cilantro, crema, vegetable slaw.
Hot pretzels: Allow guests to pick a sweet (cinnamon sugar) or savory (sea salt) pretzel and pair with a multitude of dipping sauces from a plethora of mustards and truffle cheese fondu to salted caramel and dark chocolate sauces.
Grilled cheese and tomato soup: Pick your own cheese and bread, grilled to melted perfection and served with tomato soup. Top your tomato soup with sour cream, cilantro and onions for added fun.
Build your own banh mi: Start with a selection of crusty bread, add marinated pork or grilled chili lemongrass chicken, finish with a selection of pickled vegetables and Asian chili sauce.
Raw bar: Go raw with a selection creative crudos ranging from scallop crudo (granny smith apple, bacon and jalapeno-bacon ponzu), truffled yellowfin tuna (ahi tuna wrapped tartare and truffled citrus vinaigrette) and fresh fish ceviche to cold smoked Skuna Bay salmon (herbed goat cheese, citrus vinaigrette and micro greens) and Peruvian fluke tiradito (with roasted butternut squash, red onion, edamame and leche de tigre). To accompany the crudos, add oysters and clams on the half shell, lobster and shrimp.
Hot chocolate: A favorite for adults and kids alike. Begin with gourmet hot chocolate served hot and pair with peppermint stir sticks, marshmallows, whipped cream, butterscotch chip and rich syrups. For the adults, offer a selection of Irish whiskey, Kahlua, Bailey's, peppermint schnapps and Frangelico to take it up a notch.
